Public Hearings Held for Ural Oil & Gas Environmental Permit

On October 28 and 29, 2024, public hearings were held in four rural districts of the Baiterek district—Yanvartsevsky, Kurmangazy, Chirovsky, and Sulukolsky. These open meetings were organized to discuss Ural Oil & Gas LLP’s Environmental Impact Permit application package for the 2024-2025 period.

Notices regarding the planned public hearings were shared with representatives of relevant government agencies and the public through announcements on the Unified Environmental Portal, in a local newspaper, on a television channel, and on bulletin boards of local executive authorities within the administrative-territorial units.

Based on Articles 87 and 122 of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the following document package was submitted for public hearings as part of the application for Environmental Impact Permit: Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) for 2024-2025, Waste Management Plan for 2024-2025, Industrial Environmental Monitoring for 2024-2025, Environmental Action Plan for 2024-2025, Rozhkovskoye Field Development Project with an Environmental section (revised), and Land Reclamation Project for areas impacted by construction activities at Rozhkovskoye Field development sites, including a revised Environmental section.

Public Hearings were organized by General Contractor, Neftestroyservice LLP, subcontracted design organization, ENBEK GROUP KAZAKHSTAN LLP, and the local district akimats. Participants included representatives from the akimats, relevant regulatory authorities, and residents of the local communities.
